Thank You Goldy - Hate Speech Laws Dropped!

New Zealand Minister of Justice Paul Goldsmith has instructed the Law Commission to stop all work on hate speech laws. These reforms were a fool's errand from the start, and this is a decision worth celebrating. Sign our public letter now.

Dear Minister,

Since June 2021, tens of thousands of Kiwis have insisted that the proposed hate speech laws were dropped.

Hate speech laws are subjective and dangerous. Censorship pushes ideas underground to fester, and it's far safer to have them in broad daylight for debate and reason to take hold. Everyone has their own definition of what 'hate speech' means; the proposed law would have been a disaster for all Kiwis.

We spoke. You listened. Thank you.

Thank you for respecting democracy.

Thank you for leaving room for healthy discussion, debate, and reason.

New Zealand will be better for it.

There are a lot more crazy ideas circulating within the Law Community, my concern is Family Law.

The result speak for themselves. Every $ spent in this area comes from the families that are trying to support their children & every year the outcomes for our children get worse.

Please put an end to the attack on families, our children, our future.

One of labour’s hideous ideas squashed thank god,.

How ever there is much more to be done. The government must act fast regarding our Courts and Activist Judges, who are not applying the law as was intended with regards the Marine and Coastal Area Act Claims..Before they are permanently given away..
