July Impact Review

• Four major and conclusive victories!

  1. A decisive win as Jonathan Ayling was elected onto the board of InternetNZ! 

  2. Justice prevailed as we supported nurse Robert Laroche with 45 years of experience - he faced a baseless complaint from a junior doctor for things he'd said online. No further action will be taken against him! 

  3. Reaching a conclusive settlement with Hutt City Council. HCC will issue several public statements affirming their responsibility to uphold speech rights.  

  4. Legal precedent we set in the courts leads to a rightful and just outcome for another journalist whose speech was threatened!

      

• Ran yet another successful, informative and culturally formative tour with Musa al-Gharbi across the country

   

• We met with hundreds of university students and ran an engaging and informative event for students wanting to back the fight for freedom! 

• Leading the public discussion with a focus on free speech:

  • Ten media releases and one letter to the Minister for Ethnic Communities.  

  • One submission aimed at ensuring New Zealanders are free from the threat of de-banking​! 

  • 30 media references and appearances this month defending free speech across issues including but not limited to: 

    • Baseless censorship from the Advertising Standards Authority

    • The threat of de-banking in NZ and steps to address it!

    • Our tour guest Musa al-Gharbi discussing the fight for free speech that is before us.
